Dr. Wachtel is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the City College of New York (CCNY) and a leading figure in the field of psychotherapy integration. Dr. Wachtel's work uniquely blends psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, systemic, and experiential approaches, challenging rigid adherence to any single therapeutic model. A graduate of Yale and NYU's postdoctoral program in psychoanalysis, he is a co-founder and past president of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI).
