Rabbi Dr Shulman is the Medical Director at the LCSC mental health center in Lakewood NJ, an organization dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality mental health care to the Orthodox Jewish community. He is also a clinical researcher at the New York State Psychiatric Institute working on cutting edge research in the area of addiction. He has an academic appointment at Columbia University Medical Center. He is the author of a breakthrough book on the area of repentance/teshuva and how it can be understood in terms of modern day psychiatric thinking and is working on a new book on helping families impacted by substance use disorders. Under his guidance, LCSC has expanded its services to meet a wide range of community needs while maintaining a strong focus on accountability, results, and real client outcomes.
