Dr. Aaron Brinen
Dr. Brinen is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Brinen is a primary developer of Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R), an evidence-based approach that empowers individuals diagnosed with serious mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia, to pursue meaningful lives in their chosen communities. He has co-authored the manual Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy for Serious Mental Health Conditions and has been instrumental in adapting CT-R for various settings, including individual and group therapy, inpatient units, and team-based psychiatric care. Dr. Brinen has also conducted workshops and training sessions globally to assist clinicians in implementing CT-R.
